Obituary for Louise "Weezie" Ray

Annie Louise "Weezie" Ray, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2020, at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was born on June 3, 1935, to the late, Oscar Robinson and Nettie Mae Carter, in Tifton, Ga. Annie was later adopted by Mae Jolly and J. C. Brown, who she affectionately called, "Muhdear" and "C Daddy." Annie was educated in Industrial Elementary School in Tift County, Ga. Her early christian training was at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, at the time of her passing, she was a member of Fountain of Joy Kingdom Ministries. She worked most of her life as a cook at King and Prince on St. Simon Island, a cook trainer at Captain Joe's Restaurant and McDaniel Vending Company. Her hobbies included cooking, reading, watching soap operas, court shows and the news, but most of all, spending time with her family.

Annie was preceded in death by both parents, Oscar Robinson and Nettie Mae Carter; her previous husbands and fathers of her children, Willie Archie Johnson, Willie James Randolph, Leroy Lambert, Jr. and John Ray; her son, Terry Jerome Lambert, and her grandchildren, Kelvin Johnson, Gerald Matthews and Frankie Truitt; her two great grandchildren, Terrence J. Norwood and Coya A. Truitt; her sister, Mary Helen Gibbs; a step son, Wallace Ray and her niece, Cathy Lambert.

She leaves to mourn her passing: six children, Pastor Filton (Joan) Johnson, Leon (Katherine) Johnson, Sr., Elige Randolph, Renathia R. Randolph and Willie James Randolph, Jr., all of Jesup, Ga., and Charles (April) Lambert of Fairburn, Ga.; her step children, Ned Ray, Johnnie Mae Williams and Bill (Cheryl) Ray, all of Tampa, Fl.; grandchildren that she raised as her own, Bobbie Nell Holloway and Craig Truitt, both of Tampa, Fl., Henry Lanier, Charles Lanier and Mary Stevens, all of Jesup, Ga.; (18) grandchildren; (61) great grandchildren; (4) great great grandchildren; one sister, Arthur Mae Lambert, Jesup, Ga.; a special sister in law, Willie Mae Randolph, Jesup, Ga.; as well as, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

A viewing will be held on Friday, June 26, 2020, from 11 am until 1 pm, at Royal Funeral Home Chapel, 247 W. Pine St., Jesup, Ga.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2020, @ 3pm at Odum City Cemetery.
