Obituary for Artis Mobley (Jackson)

Artis Virginia Mobley, 70, of Savannah, Ga. passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Altamaha Healthcare in Jesup, Ga. She was born on November 11, 1950 to the late, Dan and Bernice Maycock-Jackson in Blackshear, Ga. She was educated in Wayne County Training School and was a member of Zion Chapel Baptist Church in Alma, Ga. Artis spent most of her life as a homemaker and caretaker and she loved to cook.

Artis was preceded in death by both parents, Dan and Bernice Jackson; her husband, Robert James Mobley; her sister, Patricia Jones; her brothers, Thomas L. Jackson, Charlie Jackson, David Eugene Jackson and Dan Jackson.

Those left to cherish her memory: her children, Robert J. Mobley, Jr., Jesup, Ga., Alexander (Sadie) Mobley, Wilson, NC, Dewayne (Caroline) Mobley, Alma, Ga., Torica Mobley, Savannah, Ga. and Travis Mobley of Alma, Ga.; her sisters, Louise (Anthony) Jenkins, Patterson, Ga., Betty Jean Jackson, Jesup, Ga. and Jewell (Robert) Mitchell, Statesboro, Ga.; her brother, Dorsey Lee Jackson, Jesup, Ga.; her aunts, Elnora (Vann) Gordan, Earlene Fullmore and Betty Fullmore, all of Jesup, Ga.; her uncle, David Fullmore, Jesup, Ga.; her grandchildren, Robert J. Mobley, III, Elijah Davis, Alexander L. Mobley, Jr., Eric Montrell Mobley, Courtney LaShay Sierra Thomas, Dewayne Mobley, Jr., Diamond Dewanna Kennedy, Cameron Mobley, Francis Smith, Sharese Spellman, Trynese Spellman and Latravious Mobley and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A walk thru viewing will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Royal Funeral Home Chapel, 247 W. Pine Street, Jesup, Ga. 31545, from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., followed by cremation.
