Barbara A. Douglas, 67, of Jesup. Ga. passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross, Ga. following a lengthy illness. Barbara was born December 8, 1955, in Jesup, Ga. to the late, Isaiah Douglas, Jr. and Elease B. Douglas. Barbara was educated in the Wayne County School System graduating in 1973. She worked at Rayonier for over 25 years until her retirement, due to her health beginning to fail. After her retirement, Barbara spent time keeping herself busy doing the things she loved, spending time with her mother and grandchildren. She loved shopping, keeping up her lawn, gardening, traveling and visiting family and friends. Barbara enjoyed eating out and creating works of art by making jewelry, key chains, DIY projects and she loved antiques and decorating.

Barbara was preceded in death by both of her parents, Isaiah Douglas, Jr. and Elease Douglas; a brother, Forrest Latson; a sister, Jeanie Long and a granddaughter, McKinley Jackson.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her only daughter, Elease L. Jackson (Anthony) and her fur baby, Bailey; 4 grandchildren, Joshua Epps (Kaihla), Tre’Anthony Jackson (Misty), Za’Raebia Cobbs, and Masen Jackson; 3 great-grandchildren, Carter Jackson, Nyelah Epps, and McKinley Jackson; 2 sisters, Mary Stewart, Jesup, Ga. and Sonya Wilson, Montgomery, Al.; 1 brother, Bernice Brown, Long Island, NY; 2 aunts, Adjean Smith and Cynthia Brown, both of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a close friend Evonne Jones.

* There will NOT be a wake/visitation on Thursday. Remains will lie in state at the cemetery one hour prior to services on Friday.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023 @ 11:00 am at Jesup City Cemetery.

Repast will be held at Morning Glory Baptist Church Social Hall.
