Obituary for Bernard Sullivan

Bernard Ramon Childs Sullivan, 78, passed away on the early morning of Sunday, Sept. 18, 2022. Mr. Sullivan was born Dec. 26, 1943 to the late, George E. Sr. and Lucretia Way Sullivan in Woodbine, GA. He graduated from Ralph Bunche High School, Woodbine, GA in 1962; and was the running back known as "Benny the Kid" on the state championship team in 1960. He served in the U.S. Army from June 1965 to June 1967. Mr. Sullivan was employed with Hercules Inc. and retired with 36 years of service.

Bernard married the love of his life, the late, Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Sullivan on Nov. 1, 1971. He was a gentle and caring man. He will be missed dearly by all those who knew and loved him. Besides his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by his siblings, George E. Sullivan Jr., Patricia Kight, James C. Sullivan, Mack H. Sullivan, and Cheryl Sullivan.

Mr. Sullivan is survived by his children, Pamela Sullivan, Michael Mainor Sr. (Shaleise), Maurice Sullivan, Cory Sullivan (Kala), Keris Sullivan, Brandon Sullivan, Brandi Sullivan-Anderson; brother, Homer Sullivan, and two sisters, Ann Weston and Gloria Williams (Theodore); and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.


Remains will be viewed from 9-10 a.m. at the cemetery on Friday. (1 hour prior to services)

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 2022, at Woodbine Cemetery, Highway 110.

Everyone planning to attend services are asked to wear your mask to help prevent the spread of the Covid 19 virus and observe social distancing guidelines.
