Carrie Gail Baker, 54, of Ludowici, Ga. passed away on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Sprenger Healthcare in Port Royal, SC following a lengthy illness. She was born on July 9, 1966 to Jessie L. Baker and Sarah H. Jackson-Baker in Jesup, Ga. "Gail" as she was affectionately known by her family and close friends, was a graduate of Long County High School in the Class of 1984. She furthered her education at Valdosta State University where she received a Bachelor of Science, Administration Degree, a Masters Degree in Public Administration and a Personnel Management Degree. Gail was employed with the Department of Veteran Affairs and then the Department of Housing and Urban Development while living in Atlanta, Ga.
She leaves to mourn: her loving mother, Sarah Baker, Ludowici, Ga.; her sisters, Gwen and Wanda, both of Ludowici, Ga., Regina, Liberty County, Ga. and Stephanie of Evans County, Ga.; a brother, Everette, Jacksonville, Florida and a goddaughter, Moray Hunter, of South Carolina. Gail will also be greatly missed by her aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, especially, Michelle Calhoun, Billie Cray, Shyrel Wallace and Vivian Brown.
A walk thru viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 from 5-7 p.m., at Royal Funeral Home Chapel, 247 W. Pine Street, Jesup, Ga. 31545
A private committal will take place on Thursday, February 18, 2021 @ 11 a.m., at the Greater Historical Elem Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 1991 Cecil Noble Hwy, Ludowici, Ga. 31316. (There will be no viewing at the cemetery)
