Obituary for Cherry Morris (James)

Cherry Lee Morris, 64, of Folkston, Ga. passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Southeast Georgia Health System in Camden County, Ga. She was born January 14,1958 to the late, Leila Mae James and John James in Gainesville, FL. She grew up in Folkston, Ga. Cherry was united in holy matrimony to Nathaniel Morris in Brantley County on February 6, 1973. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and also Mt. New Home Baptist Church where she sang in the adult choir.

Cherry Lee was preceded in death by both of her parents, John and Leila Mae James and her daughter, Sherry Renee Morris-Jordan.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her daughters, Patricia Morris (Charles Brown), Folkston, Ga., Angel Jackson (Rocco), Reno, Nevada, a son, Johnny Lamar Williams, Atlanta, Ga.; a brother, Johnny James, Detroit, Michigan; her grandchildren: Jasean Morris, Sincere Morris, Charkieya Brown, Folkston, Ga., Derrica Watkins, Jazmine Asbell, Rocciah Jackson, all of Reno, Nevada, Jacaroll Pollock (Jerome), Bernard Jordan, Jr., Folkston, Ga., Anthony Williams, Trayvon Greene and Shareik Williams, Folkston, Ga.; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends that will surely miss her.

There will not be a wake. Remains will lie in state one hour prior to services on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Mt. New Home Missionary Baptist Church, 416 Dixie Lake Road, Folkston, Ga. 31537.

Funeral services will be held at Mt. New Home Missionary Baptist Church, 416 Dixie Lake Rd., Folkston, Ga. 31537 at 11:00 AM.

Everyone planning to attend services are asked to please wear your mask and maintain a safe social distance in an effort to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.
