Cieara Sjay Lockley-Pickett was born on May 6, 1987, in Jersey City, N.J., to Ray Anthony and Tanya Lockley-Pickett. She was the oldest of two children and a half sister. She was affectionately called Cece or Sjvay by her family and friends. Cece was educated in the Jersey City educational system; and graduated in 2006 from VoTech High School. Much of her occupational background included being a Bus Driver and serving in Child Care. Cece had an infectious, jovial personality that encompassed her in bountiful friendships. Cieara was introduced to the Lord at an early age, as her mother, Tanya, kept her and her brother, Anthony, in church services. It would be in those services that Cece's love for singing was nurtured and blossomed. She often used this gift at Refuge Temple and Outreach Ministry. She lived a full and happy life with family and friends. She found special sunshine in her relationship with nieces, Ericka and Desire'. And she learned to take the lows of life to God in prayer.

On March 31, 2020, as Cece battled sickness, her life came to a close. She was preceded in death by her maternal Grandmother, Genevieve Lockley and her Mother, Tanya Lockley-Pickett.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Her loving father, Ray Anthony Pickett; her brother, Anthony R. Pickett; her sister, Jennifer (Leon) Johnson; nieces, Desire', Ericka, Makenna, and Malia (N.J); aunts: Angela Floyd (Atlanta, Ga.), Bernadean Pickett (N.J.), Lavoris Childs (Kannapolis, N.C.); uncle: Edward Childs (N.J.); godbrother: Nickquan Gaffney (N.J.); Great uncle: Donald Lockley (Jesup, Ga), great aunts: Linda Lockley-Kelly, Gwendolyn Lockley, Bertha Cobbs, Brenda Lockley (all of Jesup); a special grandmother, Evg. Dr. Sadie Dodson, and her special goddaddy, Bis. Anthony Cherry; a host of loving cousins, friends, and family.
