Obituary for Clara Williams (Green)

Clara Anita (Green) Williams began her life on April 16, 1971 in Folkston Ga. She was the beloved daughter of Eddie James Green and Doretha Johnson. Clara‘s childhood was very active and athletic. She played multiple sports and excelled in track with basketball being her favorite. During her senior year of school, she helped lead the Charlton County Maidens to compete in the Georgia State Championship.

After graduating High School in 1989, Clara attended Brewton Parker College in Mount Vernon, Georgia where she continued to play basketball. After one year of college, Clara made the ultimate life decision to join the US Army Reserves. She went on to complete basic training and advance individual training as a unit supply clerk. Clara was active in support of Operation of Desert Shield, as well as Operations of Desert Storm in August of 1990.

In 1991, Clara moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina where she met the love of her life, Milton Sherriel Williams, Jr. To this union, they welcomed their first child, Malika Sherriel Williams on October 14, 1992. On December 27, 1992, Clara and Milton were united in holy matrimony.

During the coming years, Milton’s military commitment led to several moves. The first move was in 1993 to Hohenfels, Germany. While overseas, Clara worked as a secretary for three different establishments. She traveled to many different countries such as Afghanistan, Poland, and Czechoslovakia, to name a few before leaving Germany and returning to the United States. Milton and Clara welcomed their son, Milton Sherriel
Williams, III on July 7th, 1996.

In November of 1996, her family was assigned to Fort Irwin, California. This is where they would spend the next four years of their lives raising their two children. Clara continued her education receiving an Associates Degree from the University of Southern Illinois. In July 2001, the family was once again reassigned to March Air Reserve Base in Riverside, California where Clara worked as an office administrator.

On September 25, 2020, Clara welcomed her grandson, Miles Xavier Roberson to the family. Clara was a proud grandmother, it was like experiencing the love of her children, Malika and Milton, once again. She loved spending time, almost every second of her free time, loving and helping to raise Miles, which was her pride and joy!

On November 17, 2022, Clara departed this form of life and leaves her memory to be cherished by: her husband of 29 years, Milton S. Williams Jr. of Sun City, California; two children, Malika S. Williams of Sun City, California and Milton S. Williams III of Riverside, California; one grandson, Miles X. Robinson, Moreno Valley, California; her loving mother, Doretha Johnson of Folkston, Ga.; her father, Eddie James Green of St. George, Georgia; her grandmother, Lucille Green of St. George, Georgia; three brothers, Eddie L. Green of Folkston, Ga., Julington Shaw of Moreno Valley, California and Sherrod Davis of Marietta, Ga.; one sister, Terra Redmon (Michael) of Folkston, Ga., one sister-in-law, Taiwanda Diggs (Fernando) of Oakland, California, one brother-in-law, Tyrone Davis of Moreno Valley, California and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 @ 11 a.m. at Mt. New Home Missionary Baptist Church, 416 Dixie Lake Road, Folkston, Ga. 31537.
