It is with great sadness that the family of Claudette Smith, announces her passing, after a brief illness, on Wednesday, January 8, 2020, at the age of 80 years old. Claudette will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Sallie Chatman, her children, Anthony (Emmy), Cheryl (Roy), Stanley (Sheryl) and Jana. She will be fondly remembered by her thirteen grandchildren, Derek, Ryan, Roy II, Rachelle, Kelleigh, Kameron, Heidi, Dustin, Tabitha, Sadie, Stanley, Dylan and Ivy. Claudette will be forever remembered by her brother and sister- James Chatman (Cathy) and Yvonne Ragsdale, and by her sisters and brothers- in law Celie Maynor, Minnie Benefield (Henry), Gloria Nicholson (Cephus), Bessie Robinson (Karl), and Wilbert Smith.

She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Smith.
