Obituary for Claudette Walker

Ms. Claudette Walker, 66, of Ludowici, Ga., passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2020. She was born on December 11, 1953, to the late, Henry Walker and Juanita Coley-Walker in Jesup, Ga. She was educated in the public school system of Long County and graduated in the Class of 1971. Claudette retired from the Long County Board of Education, after 27 years as a dietician. She was a member of St. Phillips Missionary Baptist Church. Claudette enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by both parents, Henry and Juanita Coley-Walker, a sister, Sheila Coley; three brothers, Gerald Coley, Earl Walker, and Harold Parks, and a grandson, Jalen Walker.

Those left to cherish her memory: her four loving children, James "Craig" Walker, Jesup, Ga., Charles Walker (Bernica), Goldsburg,NC.; Alicia Walker, Jesup, Ga. and Christina Little of Jesup, Ga.; her sisters, Patsy Wilkerson (Theodore), Baxley, Ga.,Toni Lipplett (Carlos), Jacksonville, Fl., Constance Walker, Charlotte, NC, Darlene Walker, Hinesville, Ga., Regina Givens-McCall, Hinesville, Ga., Dina Donaldson, Columbus, Ga., Melissa Johnson, Detroit, Michigan, Pamela Higgs, Jacksonville, Fl. and Petryce Walker; her brothers, James Walker, Hinesville, Ga., Paul Walker, Jacksonville, Fl. and Edward Walker, Jacksonville, Fl.; her extended family, Clifton Walker, Sr.( Nora Lee), Ludowici, Ga., who was like a father to Claudette; Clifton Walker, Jr. (Shai), Hinesville, Ga.; Deborah Nelson, Hinesville, Ga., Randy Walker (Cheryl) and LaJuana Walker, both of Norfolk, Va.; a close friend, Sherold Thomas, Ludowici, Ga.; her grandchildren, Tariq Walker, Charles Walker, Kyra Walker, Jamel Sloan, Jaquin and Tytiana Crawford, Talicia Walker, Javeon Little, Talia'jah Harris and Quinton Christian; her goddaughter, Rosena Williams, Ludowici, Ga.; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.


A viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at Royal Funeral Home Chapel from 5-7 p.m., *with a limit of 10 people max, at a time, because of the COVID-19 and the 6ft. social distancing guideline set by the CDC and local health department.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, @ 11:00 a.m., at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Ludowici, Ga.
