Obituary for Cleveland "Spider" Rawls

Cleveland "Spider" Rawls, 88, of Screven, Ga. passed away on Friday, April 8, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 19, 1933 in Screven, Ga. to the late, Clarence and Rachel Golden-Rawls. He was educated in the Wayne County Training School System and was a member of First African Missionary Baptist Church in Screven, Ga. While he was a resident of New Jersey, he was employed with AFG. "Spider" as he was known by his relatives and close friends enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. He never met a stranger and would do anything he could to help anyone that he could. He will forever be remembered for the kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend that he was.

Cleveland was preceded in death by both parents, Clarence and Rachel Rawls; his daughter, Deborah Royals; his brother, Steven Earl Rawls (Happy); his sister, Martha Rawl- Smith; his sister in-law, Marie Rawls and his brother in-law, Charles Smith.

Those left to cherish his memory: his loving wife of 43 years, Brenda Rollins-Rawls; his children, Tina Roberts, Felicia (Terrence) Knighton, Jennifer Jones, Mark (Yvonne) Jones, Falona Davis (Marvin) Cannon, Brenda Davis-Hopkins and Chris Jones; his sister, Phyllis Manning; his brothers, Carl Rawls and Clifford (Dianna) Rawls and a host of grandchildren; great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss him dearly.

A walk thru viewing will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Royal Funeral Home Chapel, 247 W. Pine St., Jesup, Ga. 31545 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

A memorial service will be held on April 16, 2022 @ 1:00 p.m. at Royal Funeral Home Chapel followed by cremation.

*The memorial service will be live streamed for those unable to attend.

Those in attendance are asked to wear their mask and observe the social distancing requirements required to avoid the spread of Covid-19.
