Cynthia Yvonne Shellman-Jacobs, 56, of Folkston, Ga. passed away on March 22, 2022 following a lengthy illness. She was born on July 21, 1965 to the late Wilfred and Mary Leaks-Shellman in Charlton County, Ga. "Yvonne" as she was affectionately known by family and close friends was educated in the public schools of Charlton County where she participated on the basketball team and the track team. She was also a member of Mt. New Home Missionary Baptist Church since her early childhood. Yvonne was a former employee of Woodlands Nursery located in Hilliard, Fl. where she worked for approximately eight years. In her free time, Yvonne enjoyed cooking, fishing, sewing and spending time with her family. She was united in holy matrimony to Wilbert Jacobs and to this union two children were born, Arania and Jonathan Jacobs.
She was preceded in death by both parents, Wilfred and Mary Leaks-Shellman; four brothers, one of which died at birth, Michael, and later there was born another son by the name of Michael, Wilfred, Jr. and Dennis; four sisters, Rose, Rose Marie, Elaine and Carol; a grandchild, Ashawn Jacobs. and a daughter in-law, Annette Jacobs.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Wilbert Jacobs, Tarboro, Ga.; her son, Jonathan Jacobs, Jacksonville, Fl.; a daughter, Arania Jacobs, Folkston, Ga,; seven grandchildren, Nashawn, Jayawn, Mishawn, nayawn, Trayawn and Ashawnte Jacobs and Keon Brown of Folkston, Ga.; Three sisters, Lurecia (Thomas) Smiley, Brenda Shellman and Jacqueline Shellman, all of Folkston, Ga.; three brothers, Johnny (Rebecca) Shellman, Jacksonville, Fl., Timothy Shellman, Wilmington, SC and Anthony Shellman, of Folkston, Ga.; a special friend, Larry Powell, Espanola, Fl.; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, who will miss her dearly.
There will not be a wake/visitation. A viewing will be held at the graveside, one hour prior to services. (1p.m. until 2 p.m.)
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 @ 2:00 p.m. at the Neeley-Hannans Cemetery, (Old Paxton Place), Folkston, Ga. 31537
