Obituary for Dale Bell
Elder Dale Cornelius Bell, 64, of Jesup, Ga. passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Coastal Manor following a lengthy illness. He was born on May 7, 1958 to the late, Janice Ross Marcus and Thomas Bell in Jesup, Ga. Dale was educated in the public school system of Wayne County and graduated in the Class of 1976. He was a retiree of the State of Georgia where he worked for 30 years between the Georgia State Prison where he worked as a Correctional Officer. He attended the (BJCOT) Basic Juvenile Correctional Officers Training School and he also worked with the Department of Transportation as a Bridge Operator.
Elder Bell was a member of the Church of God in Christ in Savannah, Ga. where he served as the Youth Pastor and Associate Pastor. In his free time, Dale enjoyed fishing, cooking out and entertaining his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by both parents, Thomas Bell and Janice Ross-Marcus just days before his passing; his grandmother, Lila Mae Dowdy; his brothers, Demetrius and Timothy Bell; his sister, Edna Hendricks and his uncle, Jerrold Dowdy.
Dale leaves to cherish his memory: four daughters, Creshenda Rawls (Amar Bush), Jesup, Ga., Shequoia (Keith) Massengale, Hinesville, Ga., Shanara (Jerry) Smith, Allenhurst, Ga. and Kendra Bell, Jesup, Ga.; two sons, Shawn Bell, Jesup, Ga. and Jadarrius Johnson, Jacksonville, Fl.; three sisters, April (Jimmy) Bacon, LaTeah Marcus and Ophelia Gibson, all of Brunswick, Ga.; one brother, Vincent Ross, Jacksonville, Fl.; like an aunt, Barbara Morgan, Jesup, Ga.; a special friend, Nina Cash, Brunswick, Ga.; (14) grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss him greatly.
A dual visitation will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022 for Dale Bell and his mother, Janice Marcus at Bennett Union Missionary Baptist Church, 401 W. Pine Street, Jesup, Ga. 31545 from 5-7 pm.
A dual funeral service will be held for Dale Bell and his mother, Janice Marcus on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Bennett Union Missionary Baptist Church, 401 West Pine Street, Jesup, Ga. @ 2:00 pm
Interment will be at Sunset Oaks Memorial Cemetery.
