Obituary for Darrell Spatcher

Darrell Dwayne Spatcher, Sr., took his final flight to glory on April 12, 2023, at Baptist Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. He was the son of Leonard D. Forcine and Edna Spatcher Forcine, born in Brunswick, GA on November 15, 1964.

Darrell received his education and graduated in the Class of 1983 from Charlton County High School, Folkston, GA. For 37 years, he was employed by Union Camp Lumber Mill, Shipping Department as a Lead Shipping Specialist in Folkston, GA, which later relocated to Jacksonville, FL as West Fraser, Inc.

Darrell, at an early age, joined Mount New Home Missionary Baptist Church, Folkston, GA. under the leadership of Rev. Robert Brooks, and presently under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Robert Alderman. Darrell loved giving and helping in his community. He served as the Treasurer of the community group called Hearts of Love.

Darrell married the love of his life, Monica Marshall Spatcher on June 14, 2008. They were united in holy matrimony for 14 wonderful and blessed years.

Darrell loved living a fun and productive life. He was very family oriented as he spent quality time with his family and friends. He also had several hobbies. He loved fishing, crabbing, attending various sports events, and going to the beach. Darrell was a die-hard, TRUE, Dallas Cowboys and Georgia Bulldog Fan!

Darrell was preceded in death by his mother, Edna Spatcher Forcine; maternal grandparents, Edmond and Lena Spatcher, paternal grandparents, James and Pearl Forcine, mother-in-law, Fredia Lucille Vicks-Marshall, father-in Law, Henry Marshall, Nephews, Portrait Forcine and Montavius Brunson.

Darrell leaves to cherish his memories: His loving and devoted wife, Monica Marshall Spatcher of Folkston, GA; children, Yasmine Spatcher (Anthony) of Jacksonville, FL, Bryneisha Everett of Folkston, GA, Brittany Everett of Folkston, GA, Darrell Spatcher Jr. and Breonna Milton of Folkston, GA; special nephew raised as a Son, Dreion Greggs of Jacksonville, FL: his loving father, Leonard D. Forcine of Woodbine, GA; grandchildren, Khalil Stokes, Addisyn King, Reign Spatcher, Azaya King, Jiya Spatcher; brothers and sisters, Reginald Forcine, Sr. of Kingsland, GA, Tina Lynch (Melvin) of Folkston, GA, Tomicke Brunson of Jacksonville, FL, Flepio Williams of St. Marys, GA and Donahue Brunson (Jamie) of Netzberg, Germany; in-laws, Joseph Harvey (Yvonne) of Folkston GA, Emma Blackshear of Folkston, GA, Gwinette Wilson (Demetrius) of St. Marys, GA, Denise Vicks of Jacksonville, FL, Frederick Vicks of Villa Rica, GA, Anita Vicks of St. Marys, GA, Kimberly Kenney of Jacksonville, FL; god sister, Shonda Holzendorf: godchildren, Jade Bolden, Quentayvious Kenney; special friends, Jeffrey Hamilton, Johnny Rowell, Tracey Stephens, Eric Hamilton, Kenneth Blue, Avery Rogers; special cousins, Jeffrey Harris and Michael Taylor; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

We will miss him, but we are comforted in knowing that Darrell is safe in the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ

There will not be a wake/visitation. Remains will lie in state one hour prior to services, from 1:00 pm until 2 pm, the time of services.

Funeral services will be held at his church of membership, Mt New Home Missionary Baptist Church, 14 Dixie Lake Road, Folkston, Ga. 31537 on Saturday, April 22, 2023 @ 2:00 pm
