Obituary for Donny Johnson

Donny T. Johnson, 48, of Levittown, Pa. passed away on October 11, 2021 at Jefferson Hospital in Torresdale, Pa. He was born on January 09, 1973, to Brenda D. Johnson and James ( Jim) Baker in Brooklyn, NY. Donny matriculated through the Wayne County School System where he was known as a well rounded sportsman, as he played basketball, baseball and football. He attended Albany State University in Albany, Ga. His love for football eventually led him to the Savannah Chiefs, a semi-pro team based in Savannah, Ga. where he was the team’s quarterback for a period of time.

Donny was employed by Golds Gym as a personal trainer and enjoyed helping others live the healthiest possible lives through a balanced nutritional diet and consistent exercise. He had a consistent customer base, as his clients always achieved or exceeded their health goals. He remained dedicated to Golds gym for a number of years before he opened his own gym, “ Deuces Sports Gym,” in Leavittown, Pa., ten years ago. There he trained athletes and others to push themselves to be their best.

Donny will be missed by his sister, Tameka Johnson; his nieces, Uriah Johnson, Kadeeja Johnson and Jada Denton; his aunts, uncle, cousins, and a host of friends and loved ones.

A walk thru viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Royal Funeral Home Chapel, 247 W. Pine St., Jesup, Ga. from 12 noon until 6 p.m .

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 10:00 a.m., at Sunset Oaks Memorial Cemetery, 1570 Sunset Blvd., Jesup, Ga. 31545

Anyone planning to attend service are asked to wear your masks and adhere to the guidelines set for social distancing to prevent the spread of Covid.
