Obituary for Elease Douglas (Brown)

Mother Elease Brown-Douglas, 91, of Jesup, Ga. passed away on Monday, May 24, 2021 at Wayne Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. She was born on October 18, 1929 to the late, Lee Otis and Juanita Johnson- Brown, Sr., in Wayne County, Ga. Ms. Douglas was the former wife of the late, Isaiah Douglas, Jr. and spent her life as a homemaker raising her children and caring for her grandchildren, as well. She was a faithful member of Bennett Union Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a choir member. Ms. Douglas enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her family. Mother Douglas was a sweet lady, someone to mirror your life after. Always helpful, God fearing and loving to everyone.

She was preceded in death by both parents, Lee Otis and Juanita Brown, Sr.; her husband, Isaiah Douglas, Jr.; her sister, Earnestine Brown; her brothers, Lee Otis Brown, Jr., Tommie Woods and her grandson, Bernest Anthony Brown.

Those left to cherish her memories: her daughter, Barbara Douglas Smiley, Jesup, Ga.; her son, Bernice Brown, Long Island, NY; her sisters, Adjean Smith and Cynthia Brown, both of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.; her grandchildren, Jeremiah (Roberta) Thomas, Atlanta, Ga., Elease Letrelle (Anthony) Jackson, Jesup, Ga. and Cindy (Anthony) Sierra of Maryland; her great grandchildren, Jillian, Josh, Tre'Anthony, Zaraebia and Masen; as well as, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends who will miss her presence dearly.

A walk thru viewing will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at Royal Funeral Home Chapel, 247 W. Pine Street, Jesup, Ga. 31545.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021 @ 11:00 a.m. at Jesup City Cemetery, Project Street, Jesup, Ga.

A repast will held at 538 N. Cypress St., Jesup, Ga. 31546 for the IMMEDIATE family, immediately following graveside services.
