Elmodest "Marty" Gibbs was born on November 15, 1965, to the late Bertis Garner and Mose Gibbs, in Folkston. GA. Elmodest grew up in Silco, GA, and was educated in the Camden County Public School System.
He passed away on Monday, November 11, 2019, at Southeast Georgia Healthcare System in Brunswick, Ga.
He was preceded in death by both parents; one sister, Mosella Gibbs and two brothers, Frank and Henry “Leon” Gibbs.
He leaves to mourn his passing: seven sisters, Idell (Roger) Mackey, Diane Garner, Sadie Rhone, Cheryl (Cornelius) Mobley, Sherri (Kenneth) McClendon, Lizzie Mitchell and Gussie Gibbs; three brothers, Oliver (Willeva) Strickland, Mayfield (Barbara) Garner, and Tommy Garner; two children, Markia Gibbs and Martez Buie; one grandson, Denim Best; three devoted friends, Maurice Sullivan, Mark Geter, and Aaron Hamilton; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, sorrowing friends, and acquaintances.
