Elois Flowers Hardy, was born on February 01, 1942, to the late, Alberta Flowers in Jesup, Ga. She was educated in the Wayne County Training School and soon after graduation, relocated to New York, where she resided for approximately 20 years before returning to Jesup, Ga., where she resided until her demise. Elois was a member of New Hope Free Will Baptist Church and spent her free time solving word puzzles, playing spades and providing childcare for family and friends, up until her health would no longer allow such activities.
Elois passed away on August 21, 2020, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup, Ga., following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Hardy; her only son, Dwight Shelby Flowers; her sisters, Willie Lee Doomes, Mary Lee Grooms and Bernice Hines; and her brother, Aaron Wilson, Sr.
Those left to cherish her memories: one sister, Dr. Anita (Sherman) Flowers-Childers, Jesup, Ga.; one brother, Booker T. Wilson, Sr., Atlanta, Ga.; an adopted daughter, Maritta Floyd, Philadelphia, Pa.; adopted grandchildren, Erika Jones and Valencia Floyd, both of Philadelphia, Pa.; a close friend, Ann Sapp-Bryant (Robert), Jesup, Ga.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2020, at Royal Funeral Home Chapel, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2020 @ 11:00 a.m., at Sunset Oaks Memorial Cemetery, 1570 Sunset Blvd., Jesup, Ga.
