Obituary for Eric Pender

On July 27, 1970 at Cafritz Memorial Hospital in Washington DC, Charles and Beverly Pender welcomed into this world, Eric D’Sean Pender. Eric attended Dupont Park Seventh Day Adventist School in grades K-4th in Washington, DC. He later moved to Newnan, Georgia and attended the public schools in Coweta County and graduated from Newnan High School in 1989. In Eric’s early life, he became a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. He later served in the United States Marines Corp at Camp Lejeune Base in Jacksonville, North Carolina. He served his country in the Persian Gulf War. He was joined in holy matrimony to Rita Hall on December 13, 1991. Eric was employed as the director of the Coweta Food Pantry in Newnan for 10 years. He also worked for McGraw’s Catering. Eric was a family man and he was the life of every party and any gathering. He made sure his nieces and nephews had the best parties you could imagine. He was extremely vibrant and always greeted you with a smile. Eric passed away peacefully, from earth to glory, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital in Newnan, Georgia onTuesday, August 17, 2021.

Eric was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Willie C. (Ruby) Horsley of Newnan, GA., Doris McClendon Pender and David Earl Pender.

His God Daughter: Randricka Hall of Newnan, GA.
His Grandchildren: Se’niya of Lagrange, GA., Quan of Newnan, GA., Sky of Atlanta, GA., and Kaysean (KP) of Jacksonville, FL.
His Aunts: Brenda (David) Williams of Hyattsville, MD, Ella Mae (Bishop AJ) Myles of Blackshear, GA.
His Great Aunts: Ms. Sealy Hooker of Pooler, GA., Ms. Dallas Pender of Blackshear, GA., Ms. Christola Partridge and Ms. Helen Berry from Newnan, GA., Ms. Betty Gibbons and Ms. Ann Meadows from Atlanta, GA.,
His uncle: David (Brenda) Pender Sr., of Folkston, GA.
Other aunts and uncles of Newnan, GA.
Special family and friends: Mark Turner, Minister Rodney Brown, Parko Smith, Tracey Reed, special nephew, Cedric Watson, Magic Hall and Michael Hall.
Special devoted people he adored: Ms. Shelvy J. Hunt, Shronda D. Hunt of District Heights, MD and Phaylyn M. Hunt of Springfield VA.
A host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and many sorrowing friends.


A graveside will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 @ 4:00 pm at Shiloh Cemetery, 214 Moore Street, Blackshear, Ga. 31516.
