Obituary for Ethel Boone (Burnette)

Mother Ethel Lee Burnette Boone, 85, of Jesup, GA passed away on Friday, November 27, 2020 at Altamaha Nursing Home, following a brief illness. She was born on June 21, 1935 to the late, Robert Frank Burnette, Jr. and Dora Bell Reynolds-Burnette in Jeffersonville, GA. She received her primary education in Twiggs County. Mother Ethel Boone was the wife of Thomas Eugene Boone. Her work history includes that of Van's Cleaners, Hickory Manufacturing and she worked as a Bus Aide for Wayne County Board of Education for many years.

Mother Boone was a life long member and District Mother of St. John First Born Holiness Church and served in many capacities within the church, to include, the President of the Ushers Union, President of Brunswick Ushers Union and President and Treasurer of the Usher Board. Mother Boone was very active and enjoyed exercising, advising others, baking, spending time with her family, but she put everything into serving the Lord. Second to serving the Lord, she loved being a loving mother to everyone that needed her. If you were lucky enough to had ever tasted her cakes, you would have had to agree that her German Chocolate and Pound Cakes were her specialty. She was a baker at heart. Mother Boone will forever be remembered for being a Prayer Warrior and she could raise a hymn second to none. She certainly had an anointed calling on her life and she served accordingly.

Mother Boone was preceded in death by both parents, Robert and Dora Burnette, her children, Margo Boone and David Earl Boone; her siblings, Willie Pearl Lee, Anne Diane Brown and Charles Burnette.
