Obituary for Eugene Robinson
Eugene Robinson, 78, of Jesup, GA passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021 at Altamaha Nursing Center. He was born on June 28, 1942 to Troy Robinson and Leola A. Robinson in Folkston, GA and later relocated to Wayne County, GA. He was employed by the Wayne County Board of Education as a janitor at Wayne County High School for many years. Later, he was employed by Hendrix Hauling for many years.
Eugene loved fishing as a hobby and cruising around in his automobile and bike riding, but yard work was his true passion. He loved making yards beautiful.
He was preceded in death by both parents, Troy Robinson and Leola A. Johnson; a stepfather, Eddie Lee Johnson; his wife, Lucille H. Robinson; two sisters, Bernice Wilkerson and Betty Jean Evans; three brothers, Troy Robinson, Jr., Leroy Robinson, Sr. and Dewayne Roberson; sister-in-law, Clareatha Robinson; brother-in-law, Eddie B. Evans; one niece, Deborah Robinson; his nephews, James Wilkerson, Jr., Rufus Wilkerson and Sugar Ray Robinson; a great nephew, Richard Copeland, III.
Those left to mourn his passing: his brothers, Roy Lee Roberson, Little Rock, AR, Curtis Roberson, Chicago, IL, Ricky (Minnie) Mobley, Folkston, GA; two sisters, Brenda Roberson, Atlanta, GA and Wanda Mack, Folkston, GA: a sister-in-law, Lily Robinson, Jesup, GA; his nieces, Shirley (Calvin) Singleton, St. Petersburg, FL, Eloise W. Johnson, Jesup, GA, Dale E. Wilkins, Brunswick, GA, Sandra (Francisco) Gomez, Jesup, GA, Erica Robinson, Jesup, GA, Della Wilkerson, Jesup, GA; nephews, Eddie B. (Ella Faye) Evans, Jr., Dothan, AL, Jackie (Deborah) Robinson, Morristown, TN, Terry Robinson, Atlanta, GA, Frankie Robinson, New York, Leroy Robinson, Jr., Jesup, GA and Darryl Robinson, Jacksonville, FL; and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
There will be a walk thru viewing on Friday, March 19, 2021 at Royal Funeral Home Chapel, 247 W. Pine Street, Jesup, Ga. from 12 noon until 5 p.m.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021, @ 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Oaks Memorial Cemetery, 1580 Sunset Blvd., Jesup, Ga.
Those in attendance are expected to wear their PPE equipment (masks) and maintain a safe 6 ft distant.
