Mrs. Fannie King Mims was born on June 6, 1933 to the late, Lucille Cudger (Durham) and H.C. King in Cochran, Georgia. Fannie received her education and graduated from High School in Cochran, GA. Fannie married Tom Mims, Jr. of Tarversville, Ga. in 1954 and together they raised five children, three girls and two boys, in Lodi, NJ. During her life span, Fannie was the owner of a successful tailoring business and as a data entry clerk for ITT in Lodi, NJ; a seamstress for Ashley Manufacturing, in Jesup, Ga. and she retired as clerk for the Wayne County Health Department in Jesup, Ga. After retirement, she volunteered for Wayne Memorial Hospital for several years. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, watching football, playing Bingo, watching tv, growing and nurturing plants, fruits, and vegetables, and cross word puzzles. Besides her beauty, Fannie was always known for her sense of style and her extensive high heel selection. She wore them and her stylish attire well into her 70’s.

Fannie passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022, quietly in her home following a very short illness. She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Lucille Cudger; her husband, Tom Mims, Jr; her sister, Rose Perry, her brother, Charles King, her daughters, Loretta King and Eloise Wade and two grand children.

She leaves to mourn her passing: her three children, Sandra Mims Harris of Sanford, FL, Charles William Mims of Jesup, GA and Tommie Mims, of Lodi, NJ. Fannie was a grandmother to sixteen and several great grandchildren and great,
great grandchildren. She leaves a host of other family, friends, and coworkers to mourn her passing.

A memorial service is planned for Wednesday, February 02, 2022 @ 11:00 a.m. at Royal Funeral Home Chapel, 247 W. Pine Street, Jesup, Ga. Means of disposition will be cremation.
