Obituary for Forrest Latson
Forrest Lee Latson was born on July 27, 1953 to the late, Isaiah “Junior” Douglas, Jr. and Ruby Lee Latson in Jesup, Ga. He was educated in the Wayne County Training School where he participated in the football program. Forrest was a member of the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah's Witnesses in Jesup, Ga. Forrest was a former employee of American Welding and Tank in Jesup, Ga. where he worked over 30 years before retiring.
Forrest passed away on Wednesday, August 03, 2022 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup, Ga. following a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by both parents, Isaiah “Junior” Douglas, Jr. and Ruby Lee Latson; his step father, Vanderbilt Fabian; his brother, Ozell Fabian and a sister, Jeanie Long.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Mrs. Lindy McCormick-Latson, Jesup, Ga.; two step children, Anthony McCormick, Sr. and Gary McCormick, Sr., both of Jesup, Ga.; three step grandchildren, Anthony, Jr. Gary, Jr. and Serenity Sincere McCormick, all of Jesup, Ga.; his sisters, Ovilla S. Carry, Hinesville, Ga., Ruby "Tiny" Fabian, Barbara Douglas and Mary Stewart, all of Jesup, Ga. and Sonya Wilson of Montgomery, Alabama; five brothers, Johnny (Nell) Fabian, Danny(Tabitha) Fabian, Warren Fabian, Gary Fabian, all of Jesup, Ga. and Andy Latson of Chattahoochee, Fl.; his sisters in-law, Leona McCloud-Knight, Folkston, Ga., Doris Fabian and Susie Fabian of Jesup, Ga; his brothers in-law, Jimmy Knight, Folkston, Ga. and Arnelle Thomas; his only aunt, Mable King, of Charlotte, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Royal Funeral Home Chapel, 247 W. Pine St., Jesup, Ga. from 5-7 p.m.
A chapel service will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 @ 11:00 a.m. at Royal Funeral Home Chapel, 247 W. Pine Street, Jesup, Ga.
