Obituary for Greg Smith Sr.
Greg Eugene Smith, 51, of Jesup, Ga. passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 27, 2024. He was born on July 15, 1972, to the late, Julius Jackson, Jr. and Patricia Ann Smith in Wayne County, Ga. Greg was reared by his loving grandmother, Susie Mae Smith. He was educated in the public school system of Wayne County and was reared in Mt. Mariah AME Church alongside of his grandmother, Susie. Greg worked most of his adult life in the construction industry during the shutdowns at Rayonier.
He was preceded in death by both parents, Julius Jackson and Patricia Ann Smith, his devoted grandmother, Susie Mae Smith and his uncles, Frankie Lee and Lloyd Smith.
Survivors include: his children, Timia and Ahijiah Fussell, Greg Smith, Jr., Josiah, Roy and Sariah Abrams and Babela Alia Smith; his sisters, Sonia Collins, Suzette (Anthony) Formey and Savilla Jones; his brothers, Larry Smith and Asa ( Stephanie) Walker; his aunt, Sandy Nellie Smith; nephews who were like sons, Patrick, Christopher and Adari Smith; as well as a host of nieces, other nephews, cousins and special friends, Gene Floyd and Clarence Boykins, all who will miss him dearly.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 01, 2024 at Royal Funeral Home Chapel, 247 W. Pine Street, Jesup, Ga. from 4-6 pm.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 at New Creations Ministries, 3010 Lanes Bridge Road, Jesup, Ga. 31545 @ 12 Noon.
A private disposition will follow funeral services.
