Deacon Grover Randolph, Sr., 81, a native of Flatwoods, Alabama, and resident of Jesup, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 23, 1938, to the late, Charlie and Adell Randolph in Flatwoods, Alabama. Deacon Randolph was a member of Morris Chapel Baptist Church and worked most of his life in the Construction Industry, employed as a foreman with Sheppard Construction Company. After retiring, he became a handy man and caretaker of his loving wife, Annie Grace, but enjoyed gardening, attending baseball games with the kids and spending time with his family.
Deacon Randolph was preceded in death by both parents, Charlie and Adell Randolph; a daughter, Patsy Ann Terry; his brother, Charlie Randolph; his sisters, Naomi Stevenson, Eula Mae McCoy and Aurelia Wilson.
Those left to cherish his memory: his loving wife of 60 years, Annie Grace Gamble-Randolph, Jesup, Ga.; his daughters, Cynthia Randolph and Gwendolyn Scott, both of Jesup, Ga.; his sons, Allison Randolph, Brunswick, Ga., Darry (Contrena) Randolph, Lawrenceville, Georgia, Grover (Ivory) Randolph, Jr., Darien, Ga. and Anthony Randolph, Jesup, Ga.; thirteen grandchildren, Karla (Earl) Williams, Ashley King, Donte (Charlene) Randolph, Randolph (Kenyatta) Scott, Jeremy Randolph, Christina Randolph, Judah Randolph, Jaquez Randolph, Jaquaylon Randolph, Jalen Randolph, Ayanna Randolph, Jayce Randolph and Asher Brown; six great-grandchildren: Karson Williams, Jaxon Scott, Kaleb Scott, Kaniya Randolph, Amerie Randolph and Breanna Bailey; his brothers, Milton Randolph, David (Jackie) Randolph, Howard (Janice) Randolph, Roosevelt (Cheryl) Kirksey and James (Ola) Randolph, all of Detroit, Michigan; his sisters, Gladys Johnson, Cherry Mae Staggers, Annie Pearl Williams and Mildred Simms, all of Detroit, Michigan; his sisters in-law, Lillie Bell Williams, Jesup, Ga., Sadie (Elzie) Coleman, Moreno Valley, Ca., Rachael Gamble, Jamaica Queens, NY and Elvira Brown, Kennasaw, Ga.; one brother in-law, James (Dorothy) Gamble, Brooklyn, NY; his god children, Shona Whaley, Baltimore, MD, Sherna Spearman-Lott and Judith Christie, both of Jesup, Ga.; his adopted families, the Spellmans and the Greens of Jesup, Ga.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
A viewing will be held on Friday, June 19, 2020, from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m., at Royal Funeral Home Chapel, 247 W. Pine Street, Jesup, Ga. 31545
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2020, @ 11:00 a.m., at Sunset Oaks Memorial Cemetery, 1570 Sunset Blvd., Jesup, Ga. 31545
