Obituary for Herschel Swint

Min. Herschel James Swint, 62, of Jesup, Ga., passed away on Monday, August 5, 2019, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Herschel was born on December 08, 1956, in Wayne County, Ga., to the late, Wilbert Swint, Sr. and Pearlean McMiller- Swint. He was educated in the public schools of Wayne County and graduated from Wayne County High School in the Class of 1975. He joined the United States Army in July of 1980, where he served for three and a half years. After returning home, Herschel was employed with L & B Construction Company and Western Sizzler. He was a member of New Miracle Deliverance under the leadership of Bishop Melvin and Margaret Roberts. Herschel enjoyed fishing and sports, with Dallas Cowboys being his favorite football Team, and the Lakers being his favorite basketball team. Herschel found great joy in spending time with his family and his dog “BUCK”. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Delirah “Gail” Swint.

Those left to cherish his memories: his loving wife of 39 years, Cheryl Anne Jordan-Swint, Jesup, Ga.; his four children, Anthony Thomas, Savannah, Ga., LaShira Israel, Savannah, Ga., Herschel Swint, Jr., Waycross, Ga., and Jarvares (Crystal) Swint, of Jesup, Ga.; (15) grandchildren; two brothers, Wilbur Swint, Jr., Los Angeles, Ca., and Elder Michael E. (Jacquelyn) Swint, Jesup, Ga.; his mother in-law, Ellarene Baker, Jacksonville, Fl.; five sisters in-law, Francine (Ronald) Wilborn, Augusta, Ga., Elaine Jones, Jacksonville, Fl., Jackie (Donald) Hill, Waycross, Ga., and Chimere Gilmore, Jacksonville, Fl.; one brother in-law, Ricky Thomas of Alabama; his best friend, Gregory Flynn, Waycross, Ga.; his spiritual god family, the Flynns of Waycross, Ga., his church family, as well as, his nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss him dearly.
