Obituary for Iris Sullivan

Iris Patricia Sullivan was born on March 08, 1961 to the late Albert Sullivan, Sr and Artamissa Holzendorf-Sullivan in Woodbine, Ga. (Camden County). She was educated in the public school system of Camden County where she graduated in the Class of 1979. Iris was a kind spirited person who was happy to help anyone in need and did so with a smile. Upon graduating from high school (1979), Iris joined the United States Air Force and proudly served her country for (12) years and was honorably discharged as a E-5 (SSGT). Although she was stricken with health problems, Iris made her way out to the gym where she loved exercising, and she made every day count. She would always have an encouraging word for everyone in her path. Iris did not have any biological children of her own, however she took on her nephew, Jermaine Baker as her own and Milton "Buckee" Jones as one of her brothers.

On Tuesday, July 25, 2023 God saw that she had grown weary of this world and called her from labor to reward. She was preceded in death by both parents, Albert Sr and Artamissa Sullivan; two brother, Marvin Baker and Albert B. Sullivan and three sisters, Shirley Cohen, Laura Sullivan Gilmore and Delphine Loretta Sullivan.

Those left to cherish her memory: her sisters, Joy Elevy of Callahan, Fl. and Gail Sullivan, Port Lucie, Fl.; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.

Interment will take place on Monday, July 31, 2023 @ 10:30 AM at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Fl. 32218.
