Obituary for James "Jim" Andrews Jr.

Elder James Jacob Andrews, Jr., 70, of Jesup, Ga. passed away om February 16, 2021 at Baptist Medical Hospital downtown, Jacksonville, Fl. Elder James was affectionately known by his family and close friends as “Jim”. He was born on April 8, 1950 to the late, James Jacob Andrews, Sr. and Flossie Colbert-Andrews in Crescent City, Florida. Jim was educated in the public school system of New York City and graduated from Highland Senior High School in Highland, New York, and also attended Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York, studying Theology. His work history includes working in the construction industry and he worked at Poppell’s Produce for many years. In his spare time Jim enjoyed fishing, reading and praising God. He was a member of His Place Worship Ministries.

Elder Andrews was preceded in death by both parents, James and Flossie Andrews, Sr. and his brother, Curtis Andrews.

Those left to cherish his memories: a loving wife, Patricia Trammell-Andrews, Jesup, Ga.; two daughters, Candice Trammell, Atlanta, Ga. and Jamillah Andrews, Albany, NY; two sons, James Jacobs Andrews, III, Albany, NY and Mario Fuller of Atlanta, Ga.; three sisters, Cherry Andrews, Washington, DC, Jeanie and Vivian Andrews, Newburn, NY; two brothers, Lawrence (Corine) Andrews, Newburn, NY and Bishop Victor (Eva) Andrews, Jesup, Ga.; his step mother, Mary Andrews, Jesup, Ga.; his step brothers, Anthony (Felicia) Stevens, Atlanta, Ga., Andrew Stevens, Jesup, Ga. and a step sister, Annette (Marvin) Sullivan, Atlanta, Ga.; his grandchildren, Rylan Fuller, Nyrie Andrews, Nysae Andrews, Anyiha Andrews, Cameron Trammell; sister in-law, Sonya (James) West, Atlanta, Ga.; his aunts and uncles, Evang.(Elder Johnny) Shaw, Palatka, Fl., Eld. Allen (Missionary Jane) Colbert, Gainesville, Fl., Evang. Dorothy Malign, Queens, NY, Dea. James (Evelyn) Colbert, Maryland and Sandra Washington, Philadelphia, Pa.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss him dearly.

There will be a private time set aside for the immediate family ONLY on Friday, February 26, 2021 @ 11:00.m. at Royal Funeral Home Chapel. Private time with the family will be livestreamed and recorded for future viewing on Royal Funeral Home Inc. website.

A walk thru viewing for the general public will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., following the private time for the immediate family. There will not be a memorial service, cremation will follow the general public viewing.

* Everyone planning to attend the viewing are required to wear masks and keep the 6 ft. social distancing, as not to permit the spread of the Covid virus.
