Obituary for James Timmons Sr.

A Time to be born…… James Roosevelt Timmons, Sr. was born to the late, Isaac Theodore Timmons, Sr. and Alice Ellen Anderson Jordan on October 07, 1946 in Kingsferry , Florida. He was raised with his seven siblings, Queen Ester, Earthie, Arthur Lee, Sarah Frances, Mary Alice, Vernell and Barbara Ann.

A Time to Grow and Serve…. Roosevelt attended school at Pine Forest Community School of Nassau Vounty, Florida.
In his prime, Roosevelt worked at Ivory McConnell Construction Company as a carpenter. He also worked at Brannon Construction Company.

Roosevelt enjoyed watching the Florida Gators and the Washington Redskins Football Team. He also loved using his talent of building things.

God called Roosevelt home on Tuesday, December 28, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac Timmons, Sr. and Alice Jordan and his sisters, Vernell, Barbara Ann, Earthie and Queen Esther.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 52 years, Terry Timmons; his children, Minister Wayne (Olymphia) Anderson, Minnie Dawkins, Steven (Sandra) Timmons, Michael Timmons, Racquel Timmons, James Timmons, Jr.; his grandchildren, Craig, Jasrriel, Brandon, Byron (Elisabeth), LaCresha (Terrance), Danielle, DaJa, James Pootie III, Ariana, Tatiana, Malaki; his great grandchildren, Zayden, Amere, Rhyan, Cyla, Catura, Kaden, Nolan; his siblings, Isaac Timmons, Jr., Pastor A.L. (Renee) Jordan, Sr., Mary (Lewis) Donley, Sarah Hooper; his brothers in-law, Cooper Carr, Lester Carr, Anthony Austin; his sisters in-law, Bessie Johnson; his aunt, Marquerite Anderson; his special friends, W. D. Ford, Pastor Jerald Thomas, Randy Guynn and Margaret, A.J. Deuce and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

There will not be a public viewing/visitation. Remains will lie in state at the church prior to services from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Services will be held on January 8, 2022 @ 2:00 pm, at First Baptist Church Of Hilliard, 15850 County Road 108
Hilliard, Florida 32046. Interment immediately following services at Mt. Charity Cemetery, 552042 US 1 Hwy., Hilliard, FL 32046.

Everyone planning to attend services are asked to wear your masks to aid in the prevention and spread of Covid-19.
