Obituary for Janet Taylor-Harrison (Houston)

Janet Marie Taylor, 50, a native of Orange Park, Fl., and resident of Jesup, Ga., passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019, at Harborview Health System in Jesup, Ga., following a brief illness. She was born on May 11, 1969, to the late Calvin Coolidge Houston and Marie Jeanette Houston in Orange Park, Fl., where she was educated and graduated in the Class of 1987, at Orange Park High School. As a child, Janet grew up attending Orange Park United Methodist Church, and was currently a member of New Covenant and Outreach Ministries in Jesup, Ga. Janet was an employee of the local Hardees and McDonalds Restaurants, and she worked as a dietician at Altamaha Nursing Facility. She was also a caretaker and worked as a CNA for many years for both elderly people and children. She loved spending time with her children, attending football games, coloring, and laughing with her friends and family. She was a loving mother and loyal friend to so many people, and her spirit will surely be missed.

Those left to cherish her memory: her children, Shane Michael Taylor, New Albany, Indiana, Shamar Lee Taylor, Shayla Swan Taylor, Shyanne Pearl Taylor, Cierra Paige Clements and Riley Faye Clements, all of Jesup, Ga.; her sister, Linda Houston Whittington, St. Augustine, Fl.; her brother Calvin Houston, Jr., of Jacksonville, Fl.; her very dear friend that was like a sister to her and a aunt to her children, Katie Nivens, of Jesup, Ga.

A balloon release has been planned for Saturday, November 23, 2019, @ 3 p.m., at the J.C. Stadium.
