Jean Griffin, 67, passed away at St. Joseph’s/Candler Hospital in Savannah, GA, on Monday, August 24, 2020.

Jean was born September 18, 1952, in Vidalia, GA. She was a graduate of the Class of 1970, Wayne County High School. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, and she was an active member of the Jesup Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, until the time of her death. Her father, James S. McCrimmon, mother, Ruby L. McCrimmon, and two siblings, Darry D. McCrimmon and Yvonne Anderson, preceded her in death.

On May 27, 2000, Jean married George Lee Griffin, Sr.

Jean leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of 20 years, George Lee Griffin, Sr. of Jesup, GA; her children, Bonnitta Hazelwood (Marcelino) of Corona, CA and Carla Moss of Jesup, GA, Michelle Williams (Travis) of Guyton, GA, Kenya Griffin of Statesboro, GA, George Lee Griffin, Jr. of Guyton, GA, Aijaleth Fuller (Christina) of Jacksonville, FL, Blessing Shuman (Fred) of Ft Worth, TX, Bertina Griffin of Savannah, GA, Chad Hunter of Sylvania, GA; two sisters, Mary H. McGee of Jacksonville, FL and Shellie R. McCrimmon of Jesup, GA; 13 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Jean has been one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for over 40 years. Her life was centered around bringing praise to her heavenly father, being faithful and loyal to him, sharing the Bible’s message with others, and enjoying the loving association of her spiritual brothers and sisters at Christian meetings. She died knowing she completed her race for everlasting life faithfully.

She enjoyed life and being surrounded by family and friends. She loved and deeply cared about people. One of her greatest joys was her grandchildren. She enjoyed having them at her house any time and all the time. She will be remembered for being very motherly. If you came over to visit and was hungry, you didn’t leave without her feeding you. If you spoke of not feeling well around her, you were given an aspirin and a temperature check. She also shared a strong and special bond with each of her children, as well.
