Jerome “Pip” Wooden, 67, of Woodbine, Ga. passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at his residence. He was born on June 21, 1955, in Woodbine, Ga. to the late, Birdie C. Brown and Leonard Wooden and was reared by his late grandmother, Gussie Wooden. Jerome received his primary education at Ralph J. Bunch and Camden County High School. “Pip” as he was affectionately known by his family and close friends was an avid Atlanta Falcons football team fan and enjoyed gardening, with roses being his favorite flower.

Jerome was preceded in death by both parents, Birdie C. Brown and Leonard Wooden, his grandmother, Gussie Wooden and his wife, Geraldine Hamilton Wooden.

He leaves to cherish his memories: two sons, Salathial Oats, Norcross, Ga. and Dominic Wooden of Woodbine, Ga.; three loving and devoted sisters, Leona ( Joe) Fields, Woodbine, Ga., Isabelle Wooden, Warner Robins, Ga. and Kenyatta Pratt, Charlotte, NC; one brother, Clifton Brown, Jr., Tampa, Fl.; his devoted aunts, Bertha Scott, Folkston, Ga., Lynda Thompson, Kingsland, Ga. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.

There will not be a wake/visitation.

Remains will lie in state one hour prior to graveside services on April 15, 2023.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023 @ 11:00 AM at Woodbine Cemetery, Hwy 110, Woodbine, Ga. 31569, Pastor Terry Mack officiating.
