Obituary for Jerry Frasier

Jerry Frasier, 72, of Jesup, Ga. passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Wayne Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born on November 24, 1948 to the late, Herman and Myrtice Jackson-Frasier in Ludowici, Ga. Jerry was a devoted member of Jesup New Life Ministries where he served over the Sound Room Ministry. Jerry was a graduate of Long County where he was a member of the band, playing the drums. Jerry was enlisted in the United States Navy where he served his country and received an honorable discharge. Upon returning home, Jerry spent years of dedicated service at Rayonier where he worked in the finishing room. He was the basketball coach and referee for Wayne County Recreation Department for 24 years. He enjoyed the children and his time spent with them. He loved basketball, fishing, yard maintenance and simply being helpful to anyone that he could help. Jerry was the best repair man that you could ever need. There was nothing that he couldn't repair.

Jerry was preceded in death by both parents, Herman and Myrtice Frasier and a sister, Dorothy Davis.

Those left to cherish his memories: his wife, Kathy King-Frasier, Jesup, Ga.; his children, Keshia and Jerry Lockett, both of Savannah, Ga.; the children that he raised as his own, Latoya Ellis, Lateia Jackson, John Jackson III, Norman Lockett and Shelly Lockett; a grandson that he and Kathy raised, Cameron Maxwell Jackson; a sister, Shirley (James) Baggs, Ludowici, Ga.; his in-laws, Janie (David) Pickett, Jesup, Ga., Louise (Issac) Myers, Brunswick, Ga., Ruby Jean Taylor, Valdosta, Ga., Regina Reddish, Jesup, Ga., Geneva Johnson, Jesup, Ga., Jeanette (Jim) Brockett, Alma. Ga., Joseph (Lawanza) King, Ft. Lauderdale, Fl., Walter King, Jesup, Ga. and Willie Mabry of Alma, Ga.; close friend, Lester Stewart, Jeup, Ga. and a host of grandchidren; great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.

A walk thru viewing will be held on Monday, September 13, 2021 from 12 noon until 6 p.m. at Royal Funeral Home Chapel, 247 W. Pine Street, Jesup, Ga. 31545

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 @ 10:00 a.m. at Greater Historical Elem Baptist Church Cemetery, 1991 Cecil Nobles Hwy, Ludowici, Ga. 31316

Everyone planning to attend services are asked to wear their masks and observed the social distancing guidelines set by the local health officials and CDC.
