Obituary for Jimmie Butler

Jimmie Lee Butler was born on April 8, 1935, to the late Onie Butler, Sr. and Phyllis Rudolph-Butler, in White Oak, Ga. He was educated in the Tarboro Elementary School and was a life long member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Tarboro, Ga. Jimmie spent most of his life working in the Timber Industry with Murray Brothers Logging, Emanuel Walker Logging and Charlie Mainor Logging Outfit. His last job was with Ann Proctor, farming and working as a field hand. Jimmie enjoyed gardening, farming and fishing.

On Wednesday, February 19, 2020, God saw that Jimmie had grown weary of this old world and called him from labor to reward. He was preceded in death by both parents, Onie and Phyllis Butler, Sr., and four sisters, Ruby Butler Green, Shirley Butler Johnson, Mary Butler Street, and Mary Butler.

Those left to cherish his memory: two loving daughters, Janie Butler (Rodney M.) Roberts, Midway, Ga. and Mary Butler (Herbert) Jenkins, Jr., of White Oak, Ga.; three children that he raised as his own, Sarah (Michael) Roberts, Kingsland, Ga., Henry (Ann) Brunswick, Darien, Ga., and Leroy (Min. Elaine) Brunswick, Jr., Brunswick, Ga.; five sisters, Nora (Alonzo) Gibbs, Stella Butler and Irene Rudolph, all of White Oak, Ga., Katie (Hamp) Brown and Sheila Stanley, both of Woodbine, Ga.; six brothers, Onie Lee Butler, Jr, Willie (Ethel) Butler, Arthur Butler, Clifton Butler and Roosevelt Butler, all of White Oak, Ga. and Herman (Shirley) Short, Brunswick, Ga.; one aunt, Lou Ida Wilson, White Oak, Ga.; three uncles, Joe Butler and George Thomas, both of Jacksonville, Fl., and Clifton (Irene) Butler, Sr., White Oak, Ga.; three grandchildren, Alexander (Shacara) Roberts, Jr., Kingsland, Ga. and Le'Mon Dawson, Kingsland, Ga. and Cediea (Terry) Anderson, Columbia, SC.; his great grandchildren, Kie'son Smith, St. Kingsland, Ga., Alexis Roberts, Cortez Roberts, Shaniqua Dasher, all of Kingsland, Ga.; one god daughter, Daeja Butler, St. Marys, Ga.; a brother in-law, Daniel Noble, Jr., Woodbine, Ga.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
