Obituary for Josephine Christopher

Josephine Christopher, 79, of Woodbine, Ga. passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021, at Lakeside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Jacksonville, Fl. following a lengthy illness. She was born on July 21,1942 to the late Bennie James Andrews, Sr. and Graddie Mae Hannah in Woodbine, Ga. and was raised by James and Viola Rudolph. Josephine was educated at Ralph Bunch High School, Woodbine, Ga. and moved to Newark, NJ where she was educated in the Newark school system. She retired from Newark Public Schools after 32 years as an Executive Administrative Assistant. Josephine returned home to Georgia after retirement where she became a member of the First African Baptist Church in Meridian, Ga. and the Greater Trinity Baptist Church in St. Mary’s, Ga. All who knew Josephine knew her passion was cooking, and she showed her love through her cooking, especially her cakes.

Josephine was preceded in death by her parents, Bennie James Andrews, Sr., Graddie Mae Hannah, James Rudolph and Viola Rudolph; her son, Jonathan Keith Livingston; three brothers, Dennis Hannah, Wesley Massey and Eddie Lee (Jug) Hannah.

Josephine left to cherish her memories: five children Pamela Wilder (Charles Wilder), Amanda Livingston, Richard Troy Livingston (Dawn Livingston), Erika Amos (Regis Amos) and Lord James Christopher (Alicia Hornsby); eight sisters Betty Roberts, Shirley Overstreet (Willie), Sylia Hunter (Franklin), Cynthia Hannah Lattany (John), Maxine Garrett (Tavaris), Margret Andrews, Shaunda Andrews and Jean Poindexter; five brothers, Ray Henry Raysor, Meredith Hannah, James Campbell (Mary), Bennie James Andrews, Jr. and Robert Lee Dawson (Jeanette); eighteen grandchildren Rahman Livingston, Rajaee Livingston, Naimah Wood (Anthony), Tahirah Andrews, Najee Wilder, Wadee Livingston, Khalima Shahadah Mahdi, Jade Livingston, Pamela Smith, Bree Livingston, Erika Smith, Micah Livingston, Taliyah Daisy McPherson, Lord James Christopher II, Roosevelt William Christopher, Relicia Amos, Catherine Lopes (John), and Hope Amos; a host of great grandchildren (including one great great grandchild), other relatives and friends.

A walk thru viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., at the Allison Memorial Chapel Funeral, 10141 Colerain Rd, St Mary’s, GA 31558.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022 @ 1:00 p.m. at Woodbine Cemetery, 1059 GA 110, Woodbine, GA, 31569.
