Kareem Ameen Abdullah was born on August 31, 1938 to the late, Downy and Ethel Mae Boyd-Austin in Newell, Ga. (Charlton County, Ga.) He was raised by his grandmother, Lucille Boyd-Scott, whom he admired and who taught him so much about life. He was educated in the public school system of Charlton County. Kareem worked as a Logger for many years and was also employed with the Port Authority in Brunswick, Ga.
Kareem passed away on Friday, November 05, 2021 at Haven Hospice in Orange Park, Fl. following a lengthy illness.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving children, Tonya L. Pryor, Janie D. Roberts (Otis), Anthony Abdullah (Annie Mae), Desiree Carter (Marvin), Shawn Abdullah, Sharon Abdullah-Sibley (Emanuel), Karen Flowers, Elijah Abdullah (Johnella), Charlotte Abdullah, Muhammad Abdullah ( Angie), Medina Abdullah (Senior Chief Starling III) and Kareem “Jeremiah” Abdullah; his only brother, Ronald Austin; his faithful cousins and friends, Essie Mae Sims, John McCormick and Jim Clayton; (42) grandchildren; (39) great grandchildren; his nieces and nephews, Sherry Stone, Tangila Moore, Demetrius Moore, Ronald Austin, Jr., Branden Austin, Chastity Wilson and a host of other cousins and friends that will miss him dearly.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 @ 1:00 pm, at Mt. Carmel Memorial Cemetery, Mt. Carmel Cemetery Road, Folkston, Ga. 31537. Remains will be viewed from 12 noon until the time of service at the cemetery.
