The lives of Walter and Frances Scott were blessed on July 28, 1958 with the birth of their oldest son, Karl Wendell Scott. Karl was born in Jesup, Georgia.
He was a member of Mary Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully as a Deacon. His favorite song was “God Did It” by Evelyn Turrentine Agee and his favorite bible verse was Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” NIV.
Here is what you need to know about Deacon Scott: He served in the United States Army from September of 1983 until June of 1996. His tenure consisted of serving at various duty stations located in Panama, Kentucky, Detroit, and Germany. He worked at the United States Postal Service until he was medically retired in 2012. It was at this time that he decided to pursue his Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Leadership. He graduated from Point University on December 15, 2018.
Scott was passionate, faithful, hardworking and hilarious. He rarely ever said no to doing what was asked of him. While it is true he may have complained a bit and joked while doing it, he still got the job done in excellence.
Scott loved spending time with his family, discussing the bible, watching sports (football was his favorite sport) and he enjoyed grilling. The Raiders were his favorite football team. He was an amazing cook and loved good flavorful food. He was affectionately known as Pooh, Pooh Bear, Scott and Pop Pop.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Frances Scott and his brother, Reverend Walter Scott, Jr.
