Obituary for Kawanis Taylor

Kawanis L. Taylor, 46, a native of Jesup, Ga. and resident of Jacksonville, Fl. passed away on Monday, July 4, 2022 at his residence. He was born on October 1, 1975 to Shelly A. Floyd and Willie James “Jack” Taylor in Jesup, Ga. Kawanis was educated at Robert Lee High School in Jacksonville, Fl. His hobbies included dancing, singing and spending time with his family and friends. Kawanis was always the life of the party and kept everyone laughing. He was employed with Rowe’s Supermarket on Blanding and had previously worked at the Jacksonville Stadium. Kawanis was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ruby Taylor, Vera Floyd and Elijah Floyd.

Those left to cherish his memories: his mother, Shelly A. Floyd, Jacksonville, Fl.; his father, Willie James “Jack” Taylor, Savannah, Ga.; his children, Shatail Taylor, Jacksonville, Fl. and Jaden Taylor of Jacksonville, Fl.; his grandson, Jeremiah Lacade Taylor; a nephew, Shamareon Kawanis Taylor, Sr.; a great nephew, Shamareon Kawanis Taylor, Jr.; three sisters, Tanyelle Carshees Taylor, Jacksonville, Fl., Takisha Fuller, Statesboro, Ga. and Ronalda Green of Jesup, Ga.; his godson, Dayton Bowden, Jacksonville, Fl. and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.

A viewing will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022 at New Life Ministries, 512 Walker Street, Jesup, Ga. 31546 from 3-5 PM.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022 @ 2:00 pm at Sunset Oaks Memorial Cemetery, 1580 Sunset Blvd., Jesup, Ga. 31545. Remains will lie in state for viewing at the cemetery from 1:00 pm until the time of service.

Everyone planning to attend services are asked to wear your masks and adhere to the social distancing guidelines that have been set to prevent the spread of Covid-19, as cases have been rising.
