Obituary for Keith Ligon

Min. Keith Ligon, was born in Indianapolis, IN, on December 31, 1961, to Charles Ligon and Vedora Yelladay. Keith was the third of four children. Keith was educated in Indianapolis Public Schools and graduated from Northwest High School. Keith was baptized in 2008, at Eastern Star Church, Indianapolis, IN, after he had changed his life surrendering to God’s call for him to leave his old self behind. Keith’s renewed life started when he entered the Hebron Program at Wheeler Mission Ministries. It was there he fell in love with Jesus. Keith became employed with Wheeler Mission Ministries after graduating from the Hebron Program. His last role was as a Case Manager specializing in Addiction Counseling. He had a love for serving others during his time at Wheeler. His passion for his job was evident in his everyday life. Keith shared Jesus everywhere he went. The nurses, doctors, and staff at Fresenius Kidney Care, and Southeast Georgia Health Systems knew that Mr. Keith was going to share the love of Jesus with them. Giving them scriptures to read for whatever their needs were. He was always working for the Lord. Keith met his wife in 2009, and they became united April 16, 2011. Keith preached his initial sermon May 2017, in Indianapolis, IN, at New Baptist Church where he was a member, and soon after started taking classes at Crossroads Bible College towards his Bachelors of Science degree. August 2018, Keith & Darice relocated to St. Mary's and united with First African Baptist Church-St. Marys, GA. Keith loved good food, travel, and going to the movies or watching from his collection at home. Keith loved to laugh and make others laugh. Keith enjoyed his family and loved being a Paw paw to their three grandchildren.

Min. Keith Ligon departed this life on Tuesday, June 18, 2019. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Ligon, mother, Vedora Yelladay, and brother, Charles (Chuck) Ligon.

Keith is survived by his wife, Darice Ligon; brothers, Kevin and William (Latrice) Ligon, and Gene Hicks (Shanika); sister, Lenora Hicks, sister-in-law, Harriet Thomas (Pastor Laverne), 3 step-sons, niece/daughter, Briana McCoy, 3 grandchildren, aunts, uncle, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, church families, and friends.
