Kenneth Lee Reed was born on July 27, 1953 to the late, Eugene and Nellie E. Holmes-Reed in Toledo, Ga.
(Charlton County). Kenneth received his education in the public school system of Charlton County, and was a
member of Mt. New Home Missionary Baptist Church. He worked for 52 years as lead man and heavy equipment
operator with Toledo Manufacturing Company in St. George, Ga. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time
with his family and fishing.
Kenneth passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at U & F Health, in Jacksonville, Fl. He was preceded in death
by both parents, Eugene and Nellie E. Holmes-Reed, four sisters, Mattie King, Shirley Reed, Jessie Mae Spatcher
and Marie Reed; four brothers, Moses, James, Marvin and Norris Reed.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife of eight years, Josephine Henderson-Reed, Folkston, Ga.;
his children, Kelvin Henderson and Chimere Austin, both of Folkston, Ga., Lisa Walker, St. Marys, Ga., Kenneth
(Elaine) Reed, Folkston, Ga.; his sisters, Joyce Green, Jacksonville, Fl., Doretha Devoe, St. Marys, Ga., Kathryn
(Charles) Vaughn, Jacksonville, Fl.; his brothers, Sam (Shirley) Reed and Thomas (Earnestine) Reed, both
of Folkston, Ga., Frankie (Earline) Reed, Kings Ferry, Fl., Gregory Reed, Jacksonville, Fl. and Willie Reed of
Austin, Tx.; his mother and father in law, Julius ( Juanita) Henderson, Sr., Folkston, Ga.; his sister in law, Latoria
Henderson, Folkston, Ga.; brother in law, Julius Henderson, Jr., New York City, NY; a close friend, Jimmy (Ella Mae)
Moring, Folkston Ga.; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss him dearly.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020 @ 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Folkston, Ga.
