Bro. Larry Boston, 67, of Screven, GA passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick, GA. He was born on July 15, 1955, in Screven, GA to the late, Shafter and Arthur Mae Boston. Larry graduated from Wayne County High and attended Fort Valley State College and Brunswick Junior College, where he graduated as a Certified Welder. After graduation, he was employed by Rayonier and worked alongside his father. While working at Rayonier, he developed a keen interest in real estate. He began renovating and building houses as a means to preserve the community and provide affordable housing. He was a long-standing member of Jonesville Baptist Church (PAW) under the leadership of Bishop James G. Rogers.

Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Iona O. Francis Boston; both parents, Shafter Boston and Arthur Mae Boston; his mother-in-law, Wilhemenia Frances and Father-in-law, George Francis.

He leaves to cherish his memory; two loving children, Tamika Bess Thomas of Brunswick, GA and Christopher Bess of Jesup, GA; his sisters, Phecifinese (Freddie) Swain of Albany, GA and Pharleon Boston of Screven, GA; his nephew, Dr. Freddie (Shivani) Swain, White Rock, Canada; his niece and nephews, Samuel, Serena and Shaun Swain, all of White Rock, Canada; grandchildren, Koron Bess and Davion Green, both of Jesup, GA; RJ, Atlanta, GA and Rashonda Doomes, Valdosta, GA; his great-grandsons, Kason and Ky’ier Christopher both of Jesup, GA; one uncle, Jonathan (Joe) (Rose) Clark, Atlanta, Ga and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 09, 2023 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Royal Funeral Home Chapel, 247 W. Pine St., Jesup, GA 31545.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023 @ 2:00 pm at Bennett Union Missionary Baptist Church, 401 W. Pine Street, Jesup, GA. 31545.

Repast will be held at First African Missionary Baptist Church Annex, 404 Tarber Street, Screven, GA 31560
