Lekicia Lashay Bryant, 46, a resident of Wiggins, Mississippi, and a native of Wayne County, Ga., passed away unexpectedly on May 7, 2020. She was born on January 28, 1974, to the late, Elbert Lewis Arrington and Evelyn Jones in Odum, Ga. Lekicia was educated in the public school system of Wayne County and graduated in the Class of 1993. Lekicia had spent the last 20 years in Wiggins, Ms., where she moved to live with her aunt and uncle, Lena and Ronald Baldwin, frequently baby sitting their kids and helping out where she could. She worked at several different restaurants in Wiggins, as a cook, and was presently employed at the Frosty Mug Restaurant in Mississippi. Aside from cooking, Lekicia loved to dance and spending time with her family. She was a member of Faith Tabernacle Church under the leadership of Pastor James Green, where she sang in the choir. Lekicia was a loving person and will be sorely missed by those that knew her. She was preceded in death by her father, Elbert L. Arrington, brother, Ladell Bryant, aunt, Mae Jewel Arrington, grandparents, Willie Maude Jones, Buster Tillman, Clarie and Elbert Arrington, Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her mother, Evelyn Jones-Bryant, Jesup, Ga.; her aunts and uncles, Lena (Ronald) Baldwin, Wiggins, Ms., Glenda Jones, Folkston, Ga., Elizabeth (Larry) Fuller, Dorothy Smith, Alma Jenkins, Mae Dessie Floyd, Chester Jones, Larry (Glenda) Arrington and Henry Arrington, all of Jesup, Ga.; Lou Alma Issac, Erie, Pa., Frank Bonham, Baxley, Ga. and Carlton (Kisha) Jones, Brunswick, Ga.; her great aunts and uncles, Shirley (Willie) Lanier, Jesup, Ga., and Joe Nation Odom, Erie, Pa.; close friend that was like a brother, Frederick Montgomery, Wiggins, Ms.; her godchildren, Brandon Baldwin, Jesup, Ga. and Kendal Dennis of Wiggins, Ms.; a godniece, Janiyah Young, Jesup, Ga.; her best friends, Sheila Smith and Ruby Young; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends
There will NOT be a visitation/wake.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2020, at 11:00 a.m., at Odum City Cemetery, Tillman Street, Odum, Ga.
