Obituary for Leon Mack Sr.

Rev. Leon Mack, Sr., 68, of Woodsville, GA, made his transition from the earthly realm to the spiritual realm of life, and flew amongst the ancestors on March 28, 2022 at 10:05 am EST. Leon was born on October 29, 1953, to the late Thomas Jefferson "T.J." Mack and Anna Louise Gordon Mack, in Cobbtown, GA. He received his education at Ralph J. Bunche High School and graduated from Camden County High School, Class of 1971. Leon worked for Gilman Kraft Bag Plant and Tyco Simplex Grinnell where he retired from.

Leon was a man's man, a skilled musician, a humble, yet confident man, a man who could build or fix anything. He was a kind and generous man, who was always willing to help anyone in need. And, Oh, did Leon love his saxophone! His saxophone was his love, his first love, and boy could he play. No one will ever play like Leon Mack. When he played, he became one with his horn and poured into it his spirit, he laughed, he cried, he told stories, he gave praises through his horn. Leon's song was one of a kind and shall be remembered by all who ever heard him, We Love You Leon !!!

Those left to cherish his memories and to uphold his legacy include his loving and devoted wife, Katina Foster Mack; his son, Leon Damon Mack, Jr. (Danielle); three daughters, Lindsay Danielle Mack, Aija'Valon Leonshae Mack, and Vyctoria Louise Gaines (Marc); two step-sons, Brandon B. Lanes, and David K. Letbetter, III; eleven grandchildren, five brothers and sisters, Thomas Mack, Jr. (Janice), Marvene Coleman (Harold), Carrie Sykes, Irene Campbell, and Nathaniel Mack (Juanetta); a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends, and a very special friend since the first grade, Deacon Terrance "Terry" Floyd, Sr.; special cousins, The Kennedy Family, of Metter, GA.
