Obituary for Lerlean Smith (Lester)
Mrs. Lerlean Smith, 88, of Fitzgerald, GA. passed on Friday, September 30, 2022 at Palemon Gaskins Nursing Home in Ocilla, GA. She was born on November 9, 1933 in Jacksonville, GA to the late, William “Buster” and Leila McKinnon Lester.
Mrs. Smith was a faithful member of Rock Hill CME Church until her health begin to fail. She worked as a seamstress for SWS Garments until she retired. She loved to cook/bake and work in her flower beds.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Leila Lester; her husband, Nathaniel Smith; her siblings, William, Simon, Charlie J. “CJ”, James Lester and Margaret Wilcox.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her sons, Joseph (Brenda) Smith, Jacksonville, FL., Darryl Smith, Orlando, FL., Donnie (Amelia) Smith, Fitzgerald, GA., Tony Smith, Green Cove Springs, FL.; her siblings, Amanda Ervin, Inkster, MI., Maude Vereen, Belle Glade, FL., Horace (Evelyn) Lester, Jacksonville, GA.; (9) Grandchildren, (19) Great Grandchildren, and (4) Great Great Grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 11 A. M. at the Rock Hill CME Church with Pastor Edwin Thomas officiating. Interment will be at the Rock Hill CME Church Cemetery.
