Mother Lida Rachel Wyche-Russell, 91, of Jesup, Ga., passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was born on February 14, 1930 to the late, Elihue and Cora Frazier-Wyche, Sr. in Quitman, Ga. Lida was educated and graduated from Brooks County High School and spent much of her life up North in Somerset, NJ, where she worked at Excel Leather Company in the sales department for many years. In 1984, Lida relocated down South to Jesup, Ga., where she remained until her demise. She was a faithful member, Deaconess and Church Mother at St. Paul Church of God in Unity, under the leadership of Elder Beverly Rooks. Her hobby was gardening, she found great joy in being outdoors and planting. Once she retired, Lida spent most of her time in childcare, helping with her grandchildren and others that needed childcare.

Lida was preceded in death by both parents, Elihue and Cora Wyche, Sr., her husband, Emery Russell, Sr. and three brothers, Elihue, Jr., Henry and William "Bud" Wyche.

Those left to cherish her memory: two daughters, Kathryn L. Sledge, Jacksonville, Fl. and Rosalind (Louie) Russell of Jesup, Ga.; five sons, Emery Russell, Jr., Columbus, Ga., Ulysses Russell, Jesup, Ga., Stephen (April) Russell, Dayton, Ohio, Andrew (Trudy) Curry, Somerset, NJ and Sam McIntosh of Somerset, NJ; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will surely miss her.

A walk thru viewing will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021 at Royal Funeral Home Chapel, 247 W. Pine Street, Jesup, Ga. from 5-7 p.m.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 @ 1:00 p.m. at Sunset Oaks Memorial Cemetery, 1570 Sunset Blvd., Jesup, Ga. 31545.

Everyone planning to attend the viewing and services are asked to wear your masks and adhere to the social distancing guidelines set to prevent the spread of COVID.
