Obituary for Lilly Bailey (Moody)

Peace came to Mother Lillie at 11:35 a.m., Thursday, June 20, 2019, at Gulfside Hospice in Zephyrhills, Florida. She was born on April 25, 1930, in Folkston, Ga., to the late Otis and Mazona Harper-Moody, Sr. She received her formal education in the public school system. Lillie was joined in holy matrimony early in life to the late, Henry Lee Bailey and adopted a son, Carl Henry Bailey, who is now deceased. She later moved to Rochester, NY, where she married Eugene Pickett. In New York, she owned and operated a day care center in her home for many years. Upon returning to Folkston, she reunited with the late Henry Lee Bailey and they remarried once more.

Lillie was preceded in death by both parents, her husband, Henry Lee Bailey, nine siblings, JoeAnn, Mary, Annie Lee, Otis Jr., Elizabeth, J.C., Emma, Lucille and David.

Those left to cherish her memory: a son, Limuel Pickett, Dade City, Fl.; a devoted grandson that she raised, Kenneth Bailey, Jr. (Heather), Athens, Ga.; two grandchildren, Kaleb and Tyra Bailey, Athens, Ga.; two sisters, Johnnie Myers, St. Marys, Ga., and Agggie President (Nathaniel), Folkston, Ga.; six stepchildren, Della Roberts (Raymond), Shirley Dasher, Rose Ann Williams, Malcolm Bailey (Catherine), Kenneth Bailey, Sr. and Cornell Bailey; a special friend, Annette Stevens, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
