Obituary for Linda Mack (Austin)

Linda Rudine Austin-Mack, 65, of Folkston, Ga. passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at U F Health North Hospital in Jacksonville, Fl. She was born on June 22, 1955 to the late, Rudolph and Eula Jones-Austin, Sr. in Charlton County, Ga. Linda was educated in the public school system of Charlton County and was reared in Jerusalem Holiness Church, as a child, but later became a member of Bethlehem Holiness Church, where she sang in the choir. She was employed in the manufacturing job sector for many years and later at the Jacksonville International Airport. Linda enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by both parents, Eula and Rudolph Austin, Sr.; two brothers, Vernon and Charles Austin; a sister, Annette Austin-Brown; a sister in-law, Barbara Ann Austin; her grandparents, Laura Jones, Maggie Edwards and Allen Chatman-Austin.

Those left to cherish her memory: her loving children, Tawanna Renee Austin, Sebastin Austin, both of Folkston, Ga., Michael Jermaine Austin, Callahan, Fl., Mario Mack, Jacksonville, Fl. and like a daughter, Tiffany Ashley of Jacksonville, Fl.; five grandchildren, Michael Austin, Jr., Aleria Goodfellow-Austin, Pharrell Woolard, Miles N. Austin and Riley M. Mack ; a sister, Elizabeth Wilson, Jesup, Ga., three brothers, Rudolph Austin, Jr, Atlanta, Ga., Anthony James Austin, McClenny, Fl. and Thomas L. "T.L." Austin, Atlanta, Ga.; close friends that grew up with her that were like siblings, Arlena Sims, Folkston, Ga. and Michael Jones, Hinesville, Ga.; an aunt, Shirley Jackson, Folkston, Ga.; her uncles, Sammy M. Austin, Palatka, Fl. ; Lucious (Dee) Jackson, Colorado Springs, CO; her close friends, Evang. Brenda Lewis-Griffin, Genevie Stafford and Viennna Austin, all of Folkston, Ga.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss her dearly.


Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2021 @ 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Carmel Cemetery w/ graveside viewing one hour prior to services (from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.).

Everyone in attendance is expected to wear their mask and adhere to the 6ft. social distancing guidelines to further prevent the spread of COVID 19.
