Obituary for Lindy Latson (McCormick)
Lindy McCormick-Latson, 68, of Jesup, Ga. passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023 following a lengthy illness. She was born on October 07, 1954 to the late, John Anderson McCormick, Sr. and Mary Madgelene Brown in Folkston, Ga. where she received her primary education. Lindy was a homemaker, making sure the family was cared for and chores were done. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, fishing and gardening. She was a member of New Covenant Outreach Ministries and did attend until her health would no longer allow her to. Otherwise, she would take care of her financial obligations as a faithful member. Lindy was the loving wife of 50 years to the late, Forrest Lee Latson.
Lindy was preceded in death by both parents, John A. and Mary Brown-McCormick, Sr.; her husband, Forrest L. Latson; her brother, John A. McCormick, Jr. and a uncle, Joe Brown.
She leaves to mourn her passing: her sons, Anthony McCormick, Sr. and Gary McCormick, Sr. both of Jesup, Ga.; three grandchildren, Anthony, Jr., Gary, Jr. and Serenity Sincere McCormick, all of Jesup, Ga.; her sisters, Leona (Jimmy) McCloud-Knight, Folkston, Ga, Doris Fabian and Susie Fabian of Jesup, Ga.; her brothers, Alfred Joe McCormick and Arnelle Thomas; her sisters in-law, Ovilla S. Curry, Hinesville, Ga, Ruby "Tiny" Fabian, Jesup, Ga., Mary Stewart, Jesup, Ga. and Sonya Wilson of Montgomery, Alabama; her brothers in-law, Johnny (Nell) Fabian, Danny (Tabitha) Fabian, Warren Fabian and Gary Fabian, all of Jesup, Ga. and Andy Latson of Chattahoochee, Fl.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.
There will not be a wake. Remains will lie in state from 2:00 p.m. until the start of services @ 3:00 pm.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 @ 3:00 p.m. at Royal Funeral Home Chapel, 247 W. Pine St., Jesup, Ga. 31545.
Interment in Sunset Oaks Memorial Cemetery, 1580 Sunset Blvd., Jesup, Ga. Repast will be held at the church social hall.
The repast will be held at the family’s residence, 481 W. Plum Street, Jesup, Ga.
