Lorenzo Merio Oakes Williams, AKA "Pete", 35, of Jesup, Ga., passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at Memorial Health in Savannah, Ga. He was born on July 13, 1985, to Shirley Merritt and Lorenzo D. "Tony" Oaks. Lorenzo was educated in the public school system of Wayne County and would occasionally attend First Born Holiness Church. "Pete", as he was affectionately known to everyone, worked as a cook at New China Restaurants for many years. He loved to cook, fishing and spending time with his family and friends, but, what he loved most of all was being a Dad to his kids. Lorenzo was preceded in death by his brother, Tyrone "FUBU" Jackson.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his children, Raniya Stewart, Riceboro, Ga. and Ziare and Zakia Williams of New York, New York; his mother, Shirley Merritt, Jesup, Ga.; his father, Lorenzo D. (Tongakay) Oaks, Stone Mountain, Ga.; his siblings, Jerome (Deaundrea) Williams and Rita Williams, both of Jesup, Ga.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.

A viewing will be held on Monday, August 3, 2020, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., at Royal Funeral Home Chapel, followed by cremation.
