Obituary

Lurenia Fields-Tiller, 82, a resident of Jacksonville, Fl., and native of Jesup, Ga., passed away on May 2, 2020, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 19, 1938, to the late, Emmitt Fields, Sr. and Frances Martin-Fields in Wayne County, Ga. Lurenia was educated in the schools of Wayne County, and as a child, Lurenia was a member of Bennett Union Missionary Baptist Church, once she relocated to Jacksonville, Fl., she became a member of Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church. She was the widow of the late Mac Tiller and was last employed with Vistakon, a division of Johnson and Johnson vision care, before retiring in Jacksonville, Fl.

Lurenia was preceded in death by both parents, Emmitt and Frances Fields, her husband, Mac Tiller, brothers, Emmitt Fields, Jr., Emmitt Earl Fields, James Fields and Nathaniel Fields.

Those left to cherish her memory: her loving children, Wayne Fields and Richard Earl (Deborah) McMiller, both of Jesup, Ga., James L. McMiller, Gainesville, Fl. and Patricia L. McMiller of Jacksonville, Fl.; her sisters, Lauria (Denzel) Thomas, Sr. and Geneva Ansley, both of Jesup, Ga., Joyce (Charles) Anderson, Clayton, NJ and Charleen (Wymon) Hodges of Hardeeville, SC; her brothers, Robert (Patricia) Fields, Sr., Springfield, Ga. and Charles (Sheila) Fields, Sr., of Riceboro, Ga.; her granddaughter, Frances McMiller, Jacksonville, Fl.; two great grandchildren, Ethan Briggs and Jade Anthony, Jacksonville, Fl.; her step grandchildren, Dexter and Shaniece Kearney and Terrance Floyd; her step great grandchildren, McKenzie, Dexter, Jr., Keioni, Destiny and Niya Kearney; as well as, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss her dearly.

There will be a PRIVATE immediate family viewing on Thursday, May 7, 2020, from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m., at Royal Funeral Home Chapel.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 8, 2020, at 11:00 a.m., at Sunset Oaks Memorial Cemetery, 1580 Sunset Blvd., Jesup, Ga. 31545

Although, many venues have opened and the restrictions of COVID 19 have been relaxed, we here at Royal Funeral Home are still enforcing the guidelines set forth by the CDC and DPH to protect our families and our staff.
